This specification is to introduce Hence EDP's Area Composition & Typesetting system, ACT2˛, for the production of wallet checks, business checks, labels, short run continuous, rubber stamps, business cards, envelopes, letterhead, and social stationery. ACT2˛ provides a unique solution for printers engaged in the production of these and other similar printed product. Comparing ACT2˛ with a simple shrink wrapped desktop publishing package, or a custom designed package, is a mistake. ACT2˛ provides solutions that desktop packages do not and for a price much less than a budget for an “in-house” programming effort. The true test, when determining what package is best for your production needs, is the overall affect the software will have on your production needs. Will it reduce costs? In doing so, will it reduce spoilage? What level of personnel are required to operate the software? Can there be an overall reduction of necessary personnel? Would you have to hire a programmer to achieve the same result and, if so, how much would you have to pay that individual? ACT2˛ provides a pre-press production system that reduces spoilage; it reduces personnel requirements to, mostly, Clerk Typist level individuals; and, fewer personnel are needed to support pre-press when ACT2˛ is utilized. ACT2˛ is designed to address all of your pre-press requirements, not just copy production. Full plate images are produced and depending on your choice of typesetting equipment, full plates may be produced. Features These features are just a few of many that have been programmed by Hence EDP to provide volume printers with a vehicle to dramatically reduce operating costs through the reduction of spoilage and personnel profiles. Our Key Entry/Key Verify method of Order capture is a proven tool that all but eliminates spoilage due to typographical error. And the basic method of Order capture allows the usage of Clerk Typist levels of personnel instead of the more costly compositors utilized in traditional print shop environments. Although ACT2˛ supplies no accounting software, we do provide a mode to export information to most standard accounting systems. Orders, along with essential accounting data, may be entered using ACT2˛ and a file may be exported from ACT2˛ to be later imported into a standard general ledger accounting system. ACT2˛ will also provide the user with the ability to “close” jobs and print Mailing Labels. So, ACT2˛ will “follow through” by helping to organize shipping. [TOP OF PAGE] |
